2/23 Abbey has arrived at her foster home and is settling in nicely. She's a teeny little thing, nervous and skittish, but is starting to come around. She follows me everywhere, and makes the funniest little noises when she can't find me. She's great with our daughter Naiya, who is delighted to get kisses from Abbey despite her stinky breath. She has some serious dental issues, and we are hoping to have that looked at soon. It hasn't been a really smooth and easy transition for her to the other dogs, as she seems pretty scared and occasionally growls at them, but I think it's mostly nerves. She is a little possessive of toys and dog bones, but only with the dogs, not humans, so we have limited access to them unless under our supervision. She loves this squeaky toy, and it is so funny to see her try to play with it and do the kidney bean dance when she gets excited from the noises it makes. She adorable, and I can't wait until she relaxes some more and lets her personality come out. Abbey is an absolute doll, very sweet and friendly. Knows her basic commands. Good with other dogs and kids of all ages. No history with cats. She is used to someone being home with her most of the day. Watch for updates once we secure a home and get to know this girl even more. |
