6/19 I just wanted to share a video with you.  So when I take a shower I always get an extra head in there with me (Rocco's) He loves to peak in and lick the water either from the shower or from the faucet, so this time my husband was going to take a shower and I guess Rocco decided he wanted some water so he jumps in the bath tub and waited for my husband to turn on the faucet.  You will see how cute this is.  Ava is doing well too.  She is still cute as a button.  We have found that if we leave them and anything is on the counters they try to get in it.  So now when we leave we either have to make sure everything is put up or just let me go downstairs in the basement.  Other than that things have been going good.

4/28 Everything is going good here.  We have been taking them with us when we go fishing and hiking and they are loving it.  At first they were scared of the water, but they have this things with birds where they just want to chase them, so of course when they seen a duck in the water they went nuts.  They were both barking and pacing back and forth, so I decided to let them off their leashes and then it was all over, Ava jumped in the water to try to get the duck and then Rocco followed.  It was so funny.  Then later there was a stick in the water and they kept going up to it really slow, then barking at it, then backing up from up.  Needless to say this went on for several minutes and then finally Ava got up the courage and grabbed it and brought it up out of the water.  Also, today the dogs were in the back yard and my husband turned on the water hose and Rocco just stood there and licked the water as it was being sprayed in his face.  Anyway, that is all the news for now, so until later.

4/6 Ava and Rocco continue to do well at their foster home. They are doing really good.  However, I have caught Rocco trying to eat his poop a few times, not every time, but a few, so I am working with him on that.  He's only been doing it the last two weeks, so I don't know what the deal is.  Ava hasn't done it since she's been here or even tried to.  So that is good.  We took them to the dog park today and they had a blast.  They were so good with all the other dogs.  Then we took them fishing and on occasion they would go down the path to see what was in the water or being thrown into the water.  They think they are going to be playing when a fishing pole is being thrown.   My husband tied a fake spider to the end of it and he cast it out in the yard and they run and chase it.  We also hung it in a tree with fishing line so it would swing back and forth.  They will play with this spider for as long as they possibly can.  And now when we go out that is all they want.  I have tried to throw their other toys and they don't even look twice at them.  It is so funny watching them do this.

3/20 Well, the babies are still doing good.  Everyone that meets them absolutely loves them.  My niece (who is three) came over the other day and was all over the dogs and they were both so gentle with her.  It was so precious.  Although, she seemed to favor Ava a little more than Rocco, only because he loves to gives kisses.  My husband has found that they love to play hide and seek.  And funny thing is when you are taking a shower Rocco likes to stick his head in and wants to drink the water, so I end up turning off the shower and letting it just come out of the faucet so he can drink it.  Although I am home with them most of the time we did have to leave them home for a while this weekend and they did great.  There were no accidents and the house was still in tack.   These two really do love each other and always have to be together.

2/27 First of all they are both great.  They are definitely "two peas in a pod" they have a lot of the same characteristics and if one does it the other one wants to do it too.  So far they have met our neighbor and his dog and they like both of them, especially the man, cause he gives them treats.  We have had no problem with them eating any poop whatsoever.  I was picking it up for the first few days so they wouldn't even have a chance to try to eat it, but then I just left it there after they went to see what they would do and they did not even go anywhere near it.  They did there business and then went on their way.  It took them a few days to get use to the food and but it seems the change in diet has helped change this behavior.  They love being next to you, especially in the mornings.  They try to get in bed with you right when you wake up and they have to be right up on you, so you have absolutely no room.  It is too cute. The only thing we are working on is Rocco's jumping up on people.  He has actually gotten a lot better since he has been here.  When he first sees someone new he likes to jump on them and say hello, but after a few minutes he settles down. We also have noticed that after a long day of play or a good walk there back legs do tend to stiffen up and they limp a bit, but I am sure that is from the arthritis as you mentioned.  Other than that I really don't see anything.  We love them already and anyone who gets them will be lucky, because they are the most loving, gentle, and caring dogs you can find.

Ava and Rocco are siblings who are extremely friendly and affectionate. They are very bonded to each other and need to be placed together.  They enjoy children and other dogs although Rocco likes to be the boss.  Ava and Rocco have developed a bad habit of eating their own feces and need to be in a home where they get more constant supervision to work on this behavior. Ava has mild allergies, seemingly limited to the Spring/Summer, which are easily managed with Benadryl.  They can get into mischief if left home alone for long periods but they are both crate trained but should not spend long periods crated as this can be uncomfortable for them as they both appear to suffer from some arthritis in their knees.  Therefore they would do best in a home where someone is home more often then not so they don't have to be crated too often for too long.  Their current family is unable to provide the kind of supervision needed.
