Busta - Male Boxer
Requirements for this dog:

Loves other dogs, good with older kids, no history with cats, crate trained

Fenced in yard, compatible canine companion

For more information on this dog read his bio below

10/5 Busta has been with us for a little over 3 months now.  His behavior has definitely improved.  He is still very much a puppy and needed to learn some boundary rules.  He loves to play ball and is very good at retrieving the ball and bringing it back so it can be thrown again.  Busta is definitely a love bug he likes to cuddle up to his foster fur-brother and sister.  He also likes to cuddle up to his humans.  If given the opportunity he will steal something for you to go chase him, this is one of his ways of playing.  He also likes to play tug and wrestle with us and our dogs.

Busta was having issues with scratching and skin irritation.  Boxer Buddies had the vet perform a complete allergy test on him.  We found out that he is allergic to dust mites.  This is an easy condition to manage.  He is on daily meds that control this condition completely.  The meds are very inexpensive and he does very well on them.  We do bathe him once a week to help keep him comfortable, this is not really necessary you could probably get away with bathing him twice/month but he is a white dog and does tend to get filthy playing in the back yard.  He is a fun boy to be around and is super sweet, he will make a very good companion for the lucky family that is a match for him!!!

7/19 Busta is starting to turn out really well after some much needed guidance and discipline to steer him in the right direction.  The trash can now remain where it normally goes, he barely attempts to get on the couch, and the counter surfing is down to a minimum if at all.  He is completely house broken and crate trained.  He is a good boy on a walk, especially since he doesn't hear the neighborhood dogs barking at him when he walks by.  Busta is VERY energetic and will be better with someone with older kids as he may knock over younger ones.  He is friendly with our dogs and others that he has met.  His energy level can be a bit overwhelming for some dogs, so he may be best with a younger playmate who can keep up with him.  He LOVES the fenced in yard here so he can get out some of his energy bursts with laps through the grass.  Busta will chew random things if not entertained with some of his own toys, so we have found it very important that he has a toy in his vicinity at all times.  Are you Busta's forever home?? He's waiting patiently.....

6/22 Hi everyone, Busta here.  I'm at my new home hanging out with a couple other boxers, Brandy and Moe.  I like to play with the Brandy, but Moe doesn't seem to like me much.  Either way I like them both and I could play with either of them all day!!  I am having some skin irritation, but my humans say with my new food it will hopefully go away.  I have a lot of puppy in me still and need a lot of attention to teach me manners since I am deaf.  I don't mind sleeping in my crate when the humans go out.  I protest for a bit, but I can handle it.  I love to run laps in the fenced in yard and I am pretty well potty trained at this point.  My forever home will definitely need a large fenced in yard since I run so much and I will run off if I get the chance.  I can't hear cars so it's important I stay safe.  Well anyway I will talk to you soon.  Bye!!

Hi all Busta has been with us a week and he is doing great ! He knows basic hand signals mostly sit, he will lay but not always. He is eating 2 X's a day we have switched him to a high quality food .He does have some skin issues where its red from him scratching at it, his ears were really dirty and i've cleaned them out pretty good. All in all I think the skin will clear up pretty quick its very minor. He has had a few accidents in the house so we are working on schedules here.  He has a 1 year old male to play with here and let me tell you they play a lot ! He does like to get your food if you leave it by accident :) He will jump up on the counters but I think he's getting the drift that's not acceptable. He loves to have a belly rub and is very cuddly. The crate is not his choice to be in it he will whine and bark sometimes, we have let him have free roam of the house the last 2 nights and did fine , he did get in our bed and my daughters but laid right down. He really is a great boy . He is my first deaf boxer and I was a little nervous but let me tell you it's been very easy for us we talk to him and use hand signals and he is great ! We walk every day he does pull a little but he is fine. Butsa is very Loving to pets and humans although I think he would get that pesky squirrel if he could:) He loves to go in the car and he's got a deal with my local dunkin donuts they see me pull up and they get the munchkins out :)

5/31 Busta has arrived at his foster home. He already has shown he will sit with a hand signal .My male and him have played for a good hour so far. I will update more this week as we get to know him more:)

Busta is a gorgeous white male boxer, who happens to be deaf.  For more information on living with a deaf dog visit this website www.deafdogs.org Because of this we will be looking for a home with a fenced in yard and another canine companion to be his ears.   His new family will need to be willing to work on training Busta with hand signals. Busta will be arriving at his foster home today, check back for updates and photos.
