11/ 9 Clark has arrived at his foster home and his first
night went wonderfully. When I brought him home my two pups were in a
separate room so he came in and checked the place out, he was a bit weary, but
sniffed away. Once I opened the door and let the three check each other out,
thru a gate, I realized what a big old puss Clark is :) He didn't get
excited, wag a butt, he didn't growl, bark, pin his ears back, NOTHING, he
went and hid in a corner. I had to laugh because Clark is a big brute of a
dog, easily twice the size of my two, and he was afraid of them, at first. It
didn't take long for him to warm up to the idea of meeting them so the gate
came down, everyone sniffed each others hind ends and said how do you do. We
haven't had any issues with aggression, food aggression, or anything like
that. He is very cautious, especially around my 2 year old son. He loves his
people, you can tell, he doesn't stray too far from my side. I think he
misses his family a bit, which is to be expected, but he is eating and
drinking, which is a good sign he will adjust. We didn't have any issues with
bed time, he slept on his bed, in the same room with my other two and didn't
make a peep.
This morning I walked him over to the daycare my son
attends and everyone there just fell in love with him. He is the sweetest
boy. I hope some family gives this guy a chance because he is truly a love.
Clark is awesome!!! He is a very sweet friendly boy. Good with kids and other dogs. He is very well behaved and knows his basic commands. Clark is used to having a large fenced in yard so we will be looking for something similar in his new home. He will do well in any family, with or without another dog companion. He is housebroken and crate trained but really doesn't need the crate. He is just a great dog all around! |
