2/10 Here is a little update on Dozer and some new pics.  So we took him for a walk in the woods today since it wasn't too cold and he loved it.  When we first got him he pulled alot on his leash and initially when he gets on the leash he will pull just from the excitement, but after about five minutes or so he does great.  Also, while we were walking the dogs my husband took Dozer one way and I took Sadey the other way and only after a minute or so of being apart they both started whinning for the other one and tried to get back to each other as soon as possible and after they reunited they licked each other like it had been forever,  it was too precious.  He fits right into our family and and is completely comfortable so he makes himself at home like he's been her forever.  He is truly a joy to have around.  Well, that's all I have for now.

1/28 Just a little update on Dozer.  I just have to say that we love this dog, if we could keep him we would.  I can't say enough what a joy it is having him here.  As everyone already knows we have a Boxer puppy that we are trying to train, and I have to say he is really helping us with this.  Before he came to our house we were having a problem with our puppy coming in when she was called. Since Dozer comes right when you call him this has helped with our puppy, because she follows him everywhere, and now she will come in.  Also, he is very gentle with taking things out of your hand and when our 4 yr old niece came to visit he was so sweet and gentle with her.  Actually, when anyone comes to visit he always goes to greet them, but will never jump on them.  Since he loves to play I think he should be with a family that has another dog with the same energy level as him.  I also know that one of the concerns for him was jumping over a 4 ft fence, but that has not even been an issue since he has been here.

1/18 I know one of the reasons the owners needed to give up Dozer was because they said he was very energetic and was bothering the other dog in the home, well if he was, then he is getting it back from our Boxer Sadey.  They have been playing just about non stop since he got here.  She does not leave him alone.  Sometimes we actually  have to make her sit down so he can rest for a few minutes.  He loves it though.  He is such a good dog, so well behaved, he listens and minds extremely well.  He always lets you know when he needs to go out, or when he wants something.  It is so cute because he will whine when he wants something.  He never jumps on the couch or the bed unless he is invited up, then if he does come up he will just snuggle right up next to you.  He was a little over weight when we got him, he had a roll of fat around his neck, and since he has been running and playing all week he has lost of some it.  His paws are not bleeding hardly anymore and they are starting to rough up.  So that is a really good thing.  Anyway, that's all I have for now.

Dozer is a happy energetic friendly boy.   He has lived with cats and does fine with them, good with kids 6 years old and older and does well with other dogs.  However he is very playful and rambunctious and can be a bit much for an older dog. He is housebroken and crate trained.  Dozer can clear a 4ft fence so he will need a fenced in yard with a fence 6 ft + and will need to be closely supervised in the yard.  He needs some work on his basic commands and leash work.

He is going to make someone a wonderful companion.  Watch for updates once we secure a foster home and get to know this handsome boy some more.
