Duff -  Male Boxer
Requirements for this dog:

Good with other dogs, housebroken, crate trained

Please watch for updates once Duff arrives into the program

For more information on this dog please read his bio below.

2/10 Duff is doing great.  He has settled in to his foster home.  He has had no accidents in the house since he has been neutered.  He has calmed down quite a bit.  Duff enjoys his toys as well as playing tug of war

1/28 Duff is fantastic. He is great with children of all ages. The youngest child he has been with is two.  Age doesn't matter to Duff, as long as he is the center of attention. Duff is great in the house with or without supervision. He is really a different dog than when we first got him. He really has learned how to play. Loves all his toys. What more can I say. If you are looking for a great, well mannered, house broken dog to adopt, look no further! Here he is!

12/6 Duff is doing well. He has settled right in. He really picked up quick on basic commands. He has also recovered from being neutered. Duff is really quite a joy to have in the house. He hasn't had any accidents in the house the last couple of weeks and he hasn't marked inside the house either. Duff loves to snuggle while watching TV, I think that could be his favorite thing to do.

11/21Duff has been continuing with his normal routine. Yesterday he decided to forget everything he has been working on. Duff has been on a 15ft lead outside while training and working on his call back skills. He decided he didn't want to train and decided to take off into the woods. Fortunately the lead got caught on a log and prevented an escape. He is still testing the waters to see what he can get away with. The score as of right now is; handler 3 duff 0.

11/18 Duff is a real ball of energy. Fortunately Duff is not at home alone that much. He is alone for maybe 3 hours a day. We have been working everyday with Duff on obedience training. In addition to that he gets taken on a run every day that is about 3 miles. Unfortunately for Duff a member of our family is a personal trainer that likes to run. Believe it or not when the run is over, he wants to go again. Duff is high energy and does not handle being locked up in a house all day. We are really focusing in on his recall skills. Duff needs to be on a leash or a fenced in yard. Duff requires a very active but structured lifestyle.

11/16 Duff is adjusting at his foster home. He is a really nice boy. We have been working on basic commands, as well as on his recall skills. Duff has marked inside the house a few times. Hopefully when he gets neutered shortly it will help with that. Watch for more updates as we get to know him.

Duff was surrendered to rescue because he is a "bolter" and kept escaping from his family's house and yard.  They could not contain him and decided to surrender him to rescue.  We will work with this behavior while he is in foster care.  He is used to living with children and has lived with another dog in the past.  He's also been around cats.  Because he is not yet neutered, he will sometimes mark his territory, but we hope that will improve after he is neutered.  He is a very nice boy.
