8/23 Izzy is housebroken, her accidents were due to a UTI, no more accidents since the antibiotics :)

8/17 So Izzy is an absolute doll!!  Very much a snuggle bug!  She has an extreme under bite so her tongue is always out like you see in the pictures, it is too cute!  So far she hasn't shown too much interest in toys and would much rather be outside going for walks and just sitting with me.  She walks excellent on a leash, if you want a walking partner she is the dog for you!  She is very thin right now so we are feeding her twice a day 2 cups with a smaller midday meal as well until she gains some weight.  We also need to build up her muscles as well so right now we are doing about 1 - 1 1/2 mile walks, she can't really do much more than that yet until she is conditioned but she is coming along.  At first she was protective of her area/home so when someone comes to the door we have been greeting them extra friendly so she knows they are O.K. and she quickly re-directs to welcoming them, she is already much better with this as more and more people come into our house.  She is very good with everyone she has met so far (on walks, at my office, and the neighbors) she sniffs them for a minute and then she is all set. Gets along great with other dogs, Louie and her are doing very well together and she has met Bailey, a female golden, and did very well with her also.  She does need to be crated at night or for periods we are gone for a long time, she is not fully house broken.  I have left her a few times out of the crate, gated in the spare bedroom, for about 3-4 hours and has been fine, no accidents but longer than that and she does have accidents.  I am sure a few more weeks working with the crate on this she will do fine.  Other than this there are no issues I see with Izzy she has adjusted very well and gives so much love, you can't help but fall in love with her.  Who ever adopts this beauty is very lucky to have her.

Izzy is coming to us from a local shelter and needs a foster home ASAP so that we can get her into a home environment and out of the stressful environment of the shelter.  She seems to get along fine with other dogs and is very sweet.  She will need a home that will provide leadership, lots of exercise and will be willing to work with her to teach her basic commands.  She is a very sweet girl who we are sure will blossom once she is out of the shelter.
