2/18 All is going very well here with Jack. He is a great dog. It's very obvious that his previous owner was very attentive to him. He is a great companion that has been adjusting to our relaxing weekend habits easily. I think he would be great for someone that is home often. He is not "needy" of affection, he displays plenty of affection, but will also lie down and just enjoy being in close proximity to us while we read the paper and have coffee, or do paperwork at the dinner table. He is a big boy, and needs some work on leash. He does better towards the end of a long walk than at the beginning, because of his energy and his large frame. He is very good with basic commands. He enjoys our fenced yard to run a bit, and take care of business. He is just starting to get him to use the dog door. Otherwise, he is excellent at letting us know when to go out, and come in. I have been home with a slight cold since I picked him up on Friday, so we don't have any info. about leaving him alone, or in a crate. We have let him stay out at night, and he is great, sleeping on his embroidered bed throughout the night. Any person would be very lucky to get such a wonderful dog.
Jack is being surrendered because his family has to move. He is a great dog. Currently attends doggie daycare. He can sometimes be a little bossy during an initial meeting with another dog but makes friends quickly after that. Jack is a big boy. Please watch for updates as we get to know him better in foster care. |
