6/2 Daisy is such a joy to have around. She is always happy. She has begun to jump up on us a bit so we are working on “No” and “Off”. I spoke with the Vet’s office today and Daisy is officially “Fungal Free” and ready to be adopted. She is now weighing in at a healthy 27 lbs and is cuter every day. 5/26 Daisy saw the Vet on Friday, who agreed that the sites of the Ringworm looked good. She took a culture just to be sure, but by next week, we should know for sure if she is ready for adoption! She is really enjoying the fenced yard this weekend, with the weather being so nice. The noises of the lawnmower, leaf blower, and weed whacker (which even scares me!) did not bother her at all. She even would run along the inside of the fence while we were using them along the outside perimeter. She is a very easy going, adjustable puppy. She weighs 25 lbs. now and is getting a glossy adult coat. Still has some puppy teeth, though, which are usually around a toy, or Seigfired's (the dacshsund) neck, playing. She has also mastered the "Sit" command 5/19 Daisy is beginning to mature into such a nice young lady. We have been leaving the crate open in the evening and she just goes in when she's ready and gives a big stretch when we come into the kitchen in the a.m. She is weighing in @ 24 lbs. and lost her first baby tooth on Saturday (aaaawwwwwww). We picked up a new kitten Sunday, and Daisy sniffs her curiously. When she starts to get a bit too excited I can calm her right down with An "easy, Daisy". She is getting better at being patient with her medicated baths as well, and lets me do a little toenail trim without any struggle. She will be a dream to groom! She is going to the vet on Friday for shots and the ok on the ringworm. Wish her luck! 5/14 Daisy is such a good girl. She really loves everyone she sees, and tries to make them her BFF ! I brought her over to visit my mother and she was climbing on her lap kissing her like she was a long lost love! Housebreaking is going well, so well that we forget and give her a little too much freedom around the house. Aside from a couple of accidents and one half-eaten back cover of Bark! magazine it's been fine. She still has a tendency to get sick while/after being in a car for more than 15 minutes or so. I'm trying to take her on short trips more frequently to help her overcome it. She loves her toys, and playing with the kids and other dogs (whether or not they want to play with her depends on the dog). She is sleeping well in her crate from about 9:30 p.m. until about 6:00 a.m. or later. Her ringworm sites are getting filled in with fur to the point I'm not putting much cream on them now, except for the ones on the belly that's not a furry area already. She is weighing in at 22 lbs. now, and I think starting to know her name as "Daisy"! 5/7 Daisy is a great puppy! Cuddly, lovable, playful and housebreaking nicely. Her ringworm infection sites are getting difficult to see with new fur growth coming in. She is still on her meds and medicated baths until the Vet gives the all clear. She is seeing the Vet on May 23 for her last puppy shots and physical. We weighed her today, she gained 3 1/2 lbs. this week! A svelte 20.5 lbs. What a good girl!! 4/27 Daisy arrived at her foster home today and is settling in nicely. She hasn't made a peep, and has done all of her potty outside. She enjoys her toys, her bed and her nylabone. We dressed her in a doggy polo shirt for a while so that she could have some cuddle and play time. Notice the DAISIES on the bandana... her infections look as if they are healing well, and she took her pill with no problem. I will start her bathing schedule tomorrow. She is a very happy and sweet girl. Her forever home is very lucky!! Meet Daisy. She is a gorgeous female boxer pup that is coming into rescue as she currently has Ringworm. This is contagious but highly treatable and she will be ready for adoption in a few weeks after she is ringworm free. Watch for updates as she settles in at her foster home. |
