Ellie - Female Boxer
Requirements for this dog:

Good with other dogs

For more information on this dog read her bio below.

10/30 Based on our experience with Ellie, she should be in a home that does not have a cat. She has a strong small prey drive and we have resulted to keeping them completely separated. She has been eating well and her ribs aren’t showing as much as they were when she first came to stay with us. Ellie is doing better about being left home alone while being gated in the kitchen with our dog. We are up to about 15-20 minutes without incident (we have been videotaping) . She will surf the counters – so keep clear - and will get into the trash if not removed when you leave her. She is a very athletic dog and loves to run around in our fenced in yard. Ellie has learned how to play fetch and is walking much better on the leash. If you get out of your car and leave her in it (even if for a minute) she freaks out –  especially if someone or something goes by the car. We can definitely see improvement in many areas, she just still has some things to work on.

10/13 Ellie has been with us for 2 days now....wow, what a cutie! She's a little peanut, she weighs 40 lbs which is exactly half the size of our dog. Her and our boxer, Ty, get along very well! So far, it seems she is unsure about men, but no issues with women. But, she quickly comes around once introduced properly. In the short time we have had her, we have already began to see some of the things we are going to need to help her with. She needs to put on some weight, she clearly has separation anxiety, and she is not "cat savvy". Everything appears to be brand new to her! Going for walks, having a backyard to run around in, seeing people walk by the house - it's a new world to her. Hopefully a good routine, some basic training, and a lot of love will help solve most of these issues!

This girl is so sweet. She is beautiful but thin. She is very loving and all she wanted to do is hug me. She knows sit. She doesn't like the crate too much, she may have been created for excessive periods of time in the past.  She is a good girl she just needs some leadership to build her confidence, training, love and affection. She seems to be fine with other dogs. Watch for updates as we get to know her better.
