7/23 Joe has been doing good in his foster home .We have had a few issues with food and toy possession I have been keeping a close eye on him and my foster girl when it comes to play time and chow time . He has been doing much better now that I see if he growls he is told to stop or the toy gets taken away. My foster girl is one smart lady she wont play with him because he growled at her but today is the day that I think he figured out hey if I'm not being nice to her she won't play with me a little coaxing in the right direction by us and he's doing great! Joe and his foster sister do eat at the same time but in different parts of the room and there have been no other problems with that. Joe is still young and will need some good reassurance that he is in a safe loving foster home and strong leadership and so far has done wonderful. He is now neutered and I see a major improvement in him as far as marking in the house none today he is on the right track. As far as riding in the car we have been working on going out every day in the car he is still a little nervous but I am sure with us taking him out every day in the car and coming home he finally is relaxed enough to get in and out. He gets very excited when people come to visit and is very friendly! He is pretty good on a leash but wants to explore everything. He's has been left in the crate for 3 hours and has done fine. I've also tried leaving him roam of the house he did counter surf but he's still young that's to be expected. I leave his crate open during the day and he will go there just to chill sometimes. I've tried free roam at night and crating he did great with both he will sleep right on top of his foster sister! Will update soon.
Joe has arrived at his foster home. He came to us
from a local shelter. He was not a big fan of the car but then again he been in
a pen for 2 weeks so we will see how that goes once he becomes more familiar
with his surroundings. He is a beautiful dark mahogany color and from what
I can tell very healthy, he will be off to our vet in the next few days to be
examined and neutered. He knows sit and we will work on the rest as he is
still getting used to us. He seems to be crate trained and goes in
his crate with ease, and slept there all night . He is eating and drinking
fine. He has marked in the house but he is being neutered next week
after that I think he will Watch for more updates as we get to know him better. |
