2/6 Luca has been with Boxer Buddies for several weeks.  There haven't been any updates given for him because there have been many trips to the vet to try and get a handle on what is going on with him.  He has trouble eating, drinking (swallowing) and has occasional episodes where he can't go to the bathroom.  We have learned that Luca has a thyroid issue that was never diagnosed, therefore never treated, and that has created some neurological issues for him.  He is now on thyroid medication, but there is no way for us to know what the future holds for him.  The medication has NOT improved his laryngyl paralysis, so its possible that may never get better and its not known if it will get worse.  He has had more episodes of not being able to go to the bathroom.....his brain isn't sending the signal to his nerves telling them what to do....and this is, of course, is a bigger concern that could affect his quality of life.  Because of these issues, we feel it will be best for Luca to remain within the Boxer Buddies program so we can monitor his condition and be responsible for the decisions that  have to be made on his behalf.

Luca is a gorgeous 3 year old male boxer.  He seems to be good with other dogs, housebroken and crate trained.
