11/13 Bruiser here, I am having some much fun in my
foster home. They are treating me (foster dad and dogs) so well. I forgot
what it was like to be loved. I am very happy now and I am trying to improve my
behavior. I listen quite well but I still get a little spooked when I am in my
car driving around town. I am working at it though. I am such the couch potato
and I enjoy to relax at every opportunity. And the belly rubs don't hurt
either. All in all, I can't complain, things are going swimmingly at the time.
More from me later Woof 10/21 Bruiser is doing real well. His new name is the "White Shadow" because he follows me around wherever I go. Bruiser is an absolute delight. It's like he has lived in my house since he was born. The issues I am working on with Bruiser now is his barking/growling while in the car and when someone knocks on the house door. He stops as soon as I re-direct his attention but is still having a little issue. I think it can be worked out eventually. We will see. In general he is a delight and has settled in fine. 10/9 Bruiser has been an absolute delight. He is adjusting well to his new foster home and has made himself quite comfortable. He is getting along quite well with my dogs and there have been no disagreements between them. In fact yesterday I observed them all laying together in a circle in the large crate I have for my two. I am happy to say that he seems to be smitten with me. My only complaint is that he is relentless in attempting to sit with me on my lazyboy. All in all he is a wonderful dog. Please Note: His appetite is outstanding, he seems to have put on good weight already.
9/29 Hi Everyone, It's me, Bruiser. Sorry I have been
away for awhile, but I was having some behavioral problems due to that fact
that I had been in a shelter and a few other places and was very stressed and
scared of what was happening. Several humans took the time to get to know me
to see why I was acting out, and that is what they told me. Therefore, I will
need a home that has a calm and confident leader to work with me. They also
say that I am truly a wonderful boy. I over heard the lady human say that I
was a Love bug, whatever that is. I'm hoping that's a good thing. Things you
should know about me. I love to go for walks and I'm very good walking if I
have the proper training collar, otherwise I tend to pull a little. I know
all my basic commands and I love to play ball. I am very fond of belly rubs,
they are my favorite and I could lay on my back for hours. I have a tendency
to jump on people because I get so excited, so I will need work on that as
well. But other than that, I am here, just waiting for my forever home.
Bark at you later,
Bruiser
After being placed on hold due to some behavioral concerns Bruiser is once again available for adoption. He has been thoroughly evaluated and passed his evaluation. However we would prefer to place him in a home with no children. He will require an experienced owner who will provide him with strong leadership Rocco and Bruiser are both at a local shelter and URGENTLY need to come into foster care as the shelter is full beyond capacity. Rocco and Bruiser are litter mates however they were living in separate homes before they found themselves at the shelter and we are not looking to place them together. They are great dogs, very friendly. They need exercise and training. Rocco is the less trained of the two, his owners kept him out in the yard most of the time and now have a new baby and not much time for Rocco. Bruiser has had a little more training but reverts back when he is with Rocco. Bruiser's owner is in the service so when he goes away he leaves the dog with Rocco's owner. They are constantly getting loose, because there are holes in the fence. Both are currently in tact but will be neutered as soon as we get them into the program. |
