Brutus

7 Year Old Male Boxer, Housebroken, Good with Kids & Other Dogs

Although you may not be able to adopt this dog, you can help us care for her while she is in foster care! Even a donation of $5 will help us with vet care, food, etc.

12/3 - Brutus has been with us for a week now and he has settled in beautifully.  He is the sweetest dog and would follow you to the end of the earth.  He's always checking to see where I am and what I'm doing.  Once he knows, he lays down :)  We have 2 small children and he's very gentle with them, never jumps, lets them hug and kiss him, and he takes treats very carefully from their hands.  Brutus LOVES going in the car.  He hops right in and stares out the window.  I get lots of smiles from other drivers because he is so darn cute.  He also LOVES going for walks and stays right by my side, no pulling at all.  We have 2 other dogs that he plays with, so he would be fine with another dog.  However, I do think he would be very content as an only dog, as he just wants to be spoiled and loved.  He has seen a few cats outside and seemed uninterested in them.  I crate him when I go out, although he does not need to be.  I'm sure he'd lay on the couch for hours waiting for me to return.  We recently had a party here with over 35 people and he never once, jumped on anyone or
attempted to "steal" any of the food that was all over the place. In fact, he found a comfy lap belonging to one of our guests, and spent the evening on her.  Brutus is an all around fantastic dog and someone will be so very lucky to have him as a part of their family.

11/27 - Hello everyone. First, I'd like to thank the people who said I could come to Boxer Buddies and get the help I need for my eye. Right now I get some medicine put in it 5 times a day! I sit very still when my new foster mom puts those drops in because I know they make me feel a little better. Here are some things you should know about me... I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE riding in the car! If I hear a car door open, I'll jump right in and I ride very nicely. I am a very good listener, I know some basic commands and I am a good boy in the house, even a new
house that is strange to me. I wasn't too sure what to make of my new fur friends when I got to my foster home. The white one just wanted to play, play, play and the brown one seemed to bark at me a lot. After a few minutes of sniffing each other, we became good buddies and we started playing chase around the yard. Boy oh boy... did they tire me out. I also watched my foster mom rake leaves and I stayed right with her and those other dogs. My old owners didn't put me in a crate, but my new foster mom has a real big one and she made it very cozy for me, so I went right in and fell asleep. She told me that it's safer in there, at least until we get to know each other a little more. I didn't mind at all. Oh yeah... I had a bath! I smell so good and I feel better. I climbed right in the tub and sat down in the warm water. I got a massage and it felt sooooo good. It's been a very busy day for me. I'm looking forward to tomorrow and some new adventures!

Brutus is a very sweet friendly guy.  He loves other dogs, and has lived with small kids and is great with them.  He is housebroken but not crate trained but can be trusted with free roam when home alone.  He has no history with cats. He walks nicely on the leash and knows his basic commands.  Brutus may have an eye issue that may require surgery and he will be off to our vet later this week to have it looked at.

Brutus arrived at his foster home today and is settling in nicely and getting along fine with the resident dogs, watch for updates as his Foster family get to know him more.
