Ce-Lo
1 Year Old Male Boxer, Good with Other Dogs, Housebroken & Crate Trained, Needs to be Placed in A Home with Another Dog 1/10 - Ce-Lo has come such a long way since he entered my home. Ce-Lo had a great Christmas and a wonderful New Year. He got lots and lots of presents and even my family brought him over some gifts. Ce-Lo is still getting along wonderfully with his foster brothers and loves the cats. He is such an energetic but gentle boy. He sucks every person in that comes to visit. They all just adore him. Ce-Lo has also been doing wonderfully with my schedule change. He has had no issues with his kennel. I give him a Kong from the freezer and he goes right into his kennel. He’s been able to handle 3 - 4 full days at home. I did however hire a doggy sitter to come and let the boys out while I’m gone and just hang out with them and keep them company while I’m at work. I hear everyday how much she LOVES them all and that they all try to squeeze into her lap at the same time. He loves meeting new people and he adores children. He is the type of boxer that shadows your every move, I’ve noticed this since he first came here. He would rather be where ever we are. He’s a typical young curious boxer. He wants to see everything and just be involved with everything we do. He is a comedian and makes me laugh everyday. 10/1 - I have a lot to write about Ce-Lo! He has come such a LONG way. He is a wonderful boy with LOTS and LOTS of energy! The intros with both foster brothers went very well. They are all 3 peas in a pod. They get along absolutely wonderfully. He loves to go for car rides and walks. He is a very strong boy and really pulls and it's not enjoyable. I've been using a gentle leader (head collar) with him and it's really been a godsend!! I would not take him for a walk with out it..... I've been teaching him a lot as he came here knowing nothing. We've been working on building his confidence as that was really low when he got here. I've also been safely exposing him to new things everyday as everything to him is NEW. If something really makes him nervous then he will start to bark. But he has been doing great!! He is potty trained but I do need to keep on my toes as if I do not let him out every so often, especially after a nap or playing, he will have a potty accident. He's a typical young boxer boy!! To him potty is the last thing he thinks about as there are just too many fun things to do. Ce-Lo is wonderful in his crate. He does sometimes get vocal when you first put him in there but he quiets down after a little bit. He has learned what the significance of the KONG is and he now loves it. He does well in his crate at night but he likes it right at the end of the bed. Ce-Lo would do well with a stay at home parent or someone that works part time and is not gone 5-7 days a week all day. I think Ce-Lo really needs another dog in his forever home and an active family too. He is a typical young boxer boy and is just full of energy. He is comical to say the least and keeps me on my toes with his shenanigans..... but we won't tell him that he is always making me laugh! Ce-Lo has also been fine with all 6 cats. They were very interesting to him at first but that new-ness did wear off. He is a joy to have around and would make some family a very lucky family!!! 8/27 - Ce-Lo has been in his foster home for 3 1/2 days now. He is a wonderful boy that is very shy when meeting new people. Ce-Lo will be living with 2 foster brothers and 6 cats. He unfortunately has not been able to officially meet the boys because he was recently neutered. They see each other and go nose to nose through a baby gate but he really has some more healing to do before we can let them meet. No issues with the nose to nose greeting. Keep checking in on him to find out how he's doing.
Ce-Lo is a white (hearing) male boxer, he is very friendly meeting new people and great with other dogs. He is coming into rescue with Nola, ideally we would like to place them together but we will consider splitting them up provided they are placed with other dogs for company. Ce-Lo is housebroken and crate trained but could definitely do with some basic obedience training. Watch for updates as we get to know Ce-Lo.
