Cooper

3 Year Old Male Boxer, Good with Other Dogs, No Cats, Crate Trained

Although you may not be able to adopt this dog, you can help us care for him while he is in foster care! Even a donation of $5 will help us with vet care, food, etc.

2/26 - Cooper rides well in the car and enjoys the ride very much, so much so that some times he doesn't want to get out of the car!  This handsome young boy walks great on a leash with very little pulling, he loves to munch on some snow every once in a while too.  Cooper is a very timid and skittish when meeting new people, but warms up quickly (some yummy treats help to win him over).  Though Cooper is crate trained, he has managed to escape it once so far.  Though not overly excited about bath time, Cooper cooperated once I got him in the tub and eventually really seemed to enjoy the rub down. After bath time Cooper loved snuggling by the warm fire as he dried off.  This handsome fella sure can snuggle!

Cooper does very well with our toddler, though he has inadvertently knocked her down when trying to go through a doorway at the same time. He is gentle with her and follows her everywhere insisting on kissing her every chance he gets. He so far hasn't shown any interest in chewing on any of her toys or getting into anything he shouldn't.

Cooper is on the thin side and will be going to the vet soon to make sure all is well.  Overall Cooper has pretty good manners and responds well to basic commands, he just seems a little rusty.

This gorgeous dark brindle boy is Cooper.  He is coming into rescue as he is not getting the time and attention he deserves since the arrival of a new baby to his family.  Cooper is great with the baby but has no other experience around kids so would probably be best with older kids.  He has always lived with other dogs and loves the company so we would like to see him placed with another dog in his new home.  He can be a little shy at first when meeting new people but warms up quickly.   He is used to having a large yard with lots of space to run so we would like for him to have a good sized fenced yard in his new home.

Watch for updates as we get to know Cooper.
