Heidi

9 Year Old Female Boxer, No History with Cats, Good with Kids

Although you may not be able to adopt this dog, you can help us care for her while she is in foster care! Even a donation of $5 will help us with vet care, food, etc.

4/27 Heidi continues to be the essence of joy. She was very happy to see me when I came home from being in Virginia for a week, and gave me very enthusiastic boxer jello mold wiggles, flattened ears with her "glad face" while presenting me with her blue tug toy. She looked like Sister Batrille from the Flying Nun! She also moved her little feet like she was doing a mini "mashed potato" while she wiggled. It was quite comical since she has those four white socks. She is one happy dog. She is a good watch dog. She is calm, but will let out a very protective deep "woof, woof" when someone comes in the yard she does not know to alert you someone is here. She is  a fabulous companion, and always showing her gratitude at being loved by the tail wag, a touch of her paw to your arm while giving you a soulful look, or by giving you boxer kisses. She really likes car rides, and sits nicely in the back seat.  Heidi is fabulous.

4/14 Heidi is a wonderful girl, in addition to being one of the prettiest. She is very affectionate, and will come over, wag her little tail like it is motorized, and just want to lick you. This is one of the sweetest dogs anyone could ever hope to meet. She loves to play, and plays very gently with you with her toys. She makes cute little noises when she is happy-they don't sound like a cat's purr, but that is what they are equivalent to. She is afraid of men, and will cower and shake until she knows they are ok. She is great with other dogs, and is just a wonderful pet. She likes to be covered at night with a little blanket. She also likes to lay on the couch  and have her head touching you. Heidi personifies joy, and she gets very attached to people, and keeps her eyes on you.

4/6 Heidi continues to be a joy. She loves to be with people, and travels very nicely in the car. She has met other boxers to do evaluations, and has been fine with them. She has had no accidents in the house, is not a barker, or a destructive chewer. She is a mellow lady, and enjoys being in front of the gas stove. She runs very quickly when you call her name, and loves to play. She has become fond of a blue nubby dog toy that has an irregular bounce when dropped. She enjoys showing it to you, and wants you to want it. She is a wonderful companion

3/19 - Heidi is a dignified Grande Dame. She gets along with other dogs, she likes Casper, our submissive male boxer, very much.  Heidi is able to wag her little tail so fast it looks like a blur, she also wiggles her whole body when she is happy and looks like a boxer jello mold come to life. She enjoys having her chew bones, and chewy chips. She likes very much to cuddle with you on the couch or the bed. She will reach out and touch you with her paw if you stop petting or brushing her. Heidi makes the sweetest boxer noises after eating, she is so happy, the noise sounds a little like a purr. She will also let out a soft "woo wooooo" when she goes in her "room" (the kitchen) for the night. She likes to be in the loop of all the activity.  She is a great dog. Very affectionate, with lots of gas left in the tank. She went to the vet this past week, and is in excellent health. She has great teeth too, so don't let her age or the little gray around her muzzle fool you. She is a jewel.

Heidi is a wonderful nine year old boxer whose owner had to surrender her as she is too ill to take care of Heidi. Heidi is friendly, calm, sweet and good natured girl who enjoys being brushed and scratched. She gave us kisses when we stopped brushing her because she wanted us to brush her more. We are told she loves kids, she rides well in the car, and is house broken. Watch for updates as we get to know her better.
