9/22 I have the pleasure of babysitting Malaki for a couple of weeks.  Malaki is bunking with 5 dogs, 6 cats and a couple noisy birds.  What a slumber party huh?  He loves other dogs and would really like a companion in his forever home to play with.  Malaki is also a great candidate for a fenced in yard.  Malaki was very interested in the cats when he first met them but they have since lost there shine ( a little bit ).  I would feel that a dog savvy cat would be fine for him however sometimes he does need to be redirected as it's just so much fun to play and chase.  He does not want to hurt them intentionally but he can be very exuberant sometimes.  Malaki has a LOT of energy to burn and this is why a fenced in yard would SO benefit him (and his new family) and a compatible canine buddy to romp with.  He loves to RUN RUN RUN......    he loves being chased and he loves wrastling with these guys.   If the other dogs are tired or preoccupied with something then he has NO issues getting a squeeky toy or ball and making fun with that.  Malaki is a great boy with lots of love and energy to give!  He's quite the character and everyone that meets him thinks he's just SO adorable!

7/23 Hi Everyone!  Just thought I'd drop a line and let you know how I'm doing this week.  My mom is so impressed with me this week.  I went to a dog sitter for 4 days while she went on vacation and I learned quite a few new tricks.  I learned that it's ok not to have to  play and be so  hyper all the time!  I met another boxer who was almost as hyper as me,  but even he chilled every once in a while.  This chilling  out thing is  amazing - I even stop and smell the flowers every once in a  while.  My foster mom is so proud of me now!  She says I am not the same dog she left.  I listen much better and when I'm told "enough play" I just go find a spot to lie down and sleep for a few hours.  I'm even able to sleep in the bedroom with my mom and dad now instead of in my crate because I'm such a great boy!  She says I'm definitely ready for my forever home now that the crazy dog lady and her Boxers taught me some manners!  I'll write next week and let you know how I'm doing!

7/9 Hey all!  It's me again...my Foster Mom said I should write to you to let you know how I'm doing.  Well I've been here a week and I've settled right in and come out of my shell.  My foster mom walks me every morning for 2 miles - we do cut it a little short sometimes because the humidity makes me tired.  Then I come home and have breakfast and 10 minutes of playtime with my fur sister.  We wrestle all over the place.  I'm starting to learn that chilling in my crate is not such a bad thing, especially when I know that in a couple hours I'll get play time with my fur sister again.  My mom and dad found out they can leave me for 6 hours, uncrated and I won't have an accident or get into any trouble at all.  I actually enjoy my crate and will sometimes go in there to hang with the door open.  I'm getting used to going into the living room to watch TV with my parents and fur sister at night, although we try to wrestle when it's quiet time.  My mom is so happy that I'm such a great walker, because she can take me and my fur sister while pushing a stroller...she's a pretty talented lady.  I'm full of wiggle butts and hugs and love to sit on my foster mom's lap and kiss her.  I would do well in any house with or without a dog and with kids of any age.  Well I've got to go play now - this typing thing is for the birds!!  Later!

6/30 Move over Energizer Bunny! It's me - Malaki!! I made it to my new foster home and I'm so excited because I have a fur sister! I also have a skin brother, and he's ok, but I LOVE my new Fur Sister. I don't know how much she likes me yet...I know she's putting up with my non-stop shenanigans. I'm so full of energy - that before I settled down for the night my Foster mom took me on 2 long walks! Then we were up again this morning at 6:30 for a 2 mile walk around town. I'm a really good walker on the leash, I don't pull and I'm only a little curious about other dogs and people.  Then we came home and I've been playing with my fur sister for 2 hours. She's worn out, so my mom put me into my crate - she thinks I'm going to take a nap.  NOPE - I'll just sit here and look at everything going on around me. I don't bark or whine too much and I know the sit command really well. Well, that's all for now - I'm going to try to talk my mom into another walk. Later!

Malaki is a light brindle male with LOTS of energy.  He is coming into rescue as his current owner is not able to provide him with the exercise he needs.   He is great with other dogs and LOVES to play, he currently lives with cats and would do fine with a dog savvy cat.  He has experience with small children but can knock them over unintentionally due to his energy level so he would be best placed with older kids.  He is very sweet and friendly. His new family will need to be committed to providing him with lots of daily exercise.  Trained on an electric fence, housebroken and crate trained.

Watch for updates once we secure a foster home and get to know him more.
