7/2 Max and Missy are doing great!   Missy is still very independent but loves to cuddle at night and Max is still the loveable boxer goober.  Both have their own personalities which make them so different but they are inseparable.  They always have to know where the other one is. Max still plays tug of war at night with his foster sister Lucy, while Missy retreats upstairs and can't be bothered with the craziness. Missy is not as vocal as she was a few months back, she has now settled a bit and just goes with the flow.  It is very rare to get a boxer kiss from her, but when she wants to give them she won't stop!  Max constantly wants to be loved and is always willing to give boxer kisses!  He seems to think that everything that is yours is his too.  It's absolutely wonderfull to come home to Max and Missy as they are always happy to see you.

3/24 Hi, it’s Missy and I have definitely come out of my shell, and will now follow my foster Mom around and not have to be invited into another room.  I even go upstairs when I have had enough of my brother Max and my foster sister Lucy the pug.  My new thing is cuddling on the bed, and I let my foster Mom know when it’s time to go to bed.  I love to be brushed and have even gone for a few walks; I am great on a leash!  I am very vocal, and will talk back especially if my foster Mom corrects me.  My foster Mom tells me I am very comical and when my tail wags, you would think I am going to take off it goes so fast.

Hi, it’s Max and I am still the love bug.  My foster Mom tells me I’m at the perfect weight now, and am very energetic.  I am a huge bed hog, and how dare my foster Mom would want more room on the bed, as I get very grumpy when my foster Mom tries to squeeze an inch more.  I love my squeaky toys and will play with the Lucy for hours.  I am still not to keen on men, especially those with baseball hats on.  My foster Mom is working on this, but it is a slow process.  Missy and I are inseparable.  What she does, I do and vice versa.  We both continue to share the love seat during the day or one of the dog beds.  At night I continue to sleep either on Missy or around her, and she is very tolerable of this.  Our foster Mom says it is so enjoyable to come home to us as all we want to do is please and be loved.

1/28 Max and Missy are doing very well.  Max is now at a healthy weight, his  ribs and spine are no longer showing.  Both dogs are now leaving a few bites of food in their dishes, and no longer scarf their meals down.  Missy is perfectly content being by her self and pretty much sleeps on the loveseat all day, when she wants attention she will let you know, and then her tail does not stop. I have never seen a dogs tail go this fast, it's adorable.  Max continues to play tug of war with his foster sister Lucy the pug;  he is very gentle with her and lets her win every time.  Max still very much depends on Missy.  He will not let her out of his sight when they are outside, and insists on sharing the loveseat with her.  I am still working on people integration with Max; he loves them when they are in the house, but does not like people coming into the house.  Max and Missy have settled in very nicely here.

12/5 Max and Missy are doing great.  Max is up to 53lbs and is not as skinny as he was when he arrived, and I am working on Missy losing some weight.  Max's Mast Cell tumor was a grade 2 and the boards weren't clean, so he is healing from that right now. He is on Benadryl 50mg twice a day to block the histamines that the tumor releases. Both Max and Missy have taken over  the love seat and that is primarily where they sleep all day.  Max has adopted my bed at night, but Missy still very much likes to be on her own.  So she usually starts there, and about 10 minutes in she will either go downstairs to the loveseat or go up on the futon in other bedroom.  Max is a very active 10 year old.  He and Lucy play tug of war for about 2 hours each night, and he loves to run around in the back yard.  Missy on the other hand is not very active, she does not like walks at all, and goes out to do her business and then she is right back in on the loveseat.  Max loves his squeaky toys and bones, while Missy will just stick to bones.  She can't even be bothered with a squeaky toy. Both are very well behaved dogs, love to cuddle and have finally got their boxer wiggles back. We are working on Max's social skills with men, as he does not like them. Over all they are wonderful  dogs, and have settled in very nicely.

11/11 All seems to be doing well.  The three of them won’t sit long enough together for me to get a picture of all three.  Max is so polite and will wait for Lucy to finish outside.  Missy needs to be invited everywhere, or she’ll just sit and wait till you come get her.  So far no aggression of any kind.  Missy let out a low growl to Max when she was chewing on a bone, and that was corrected immediately.  Never happened again, even when Lucy took her bone, she just looked at me, and waited for me to correct Lucy.  They seem to sleep a lot, and Max had a bad case of diarrhea at about 2am, but made it outside, thankfully.  He hasn’t gotten sick since, and ate a good breakfast.

Neither Max nor Missy beg for food, or will go up on the furniture unless told.  They do need to get their boxer spirit back, as there aren’t any boxer wiggles at all.

10/22 Well Max and Missy have arrived at their foster home. They are neither shy nor skittish in ANY way. They are so cute and loveable. Max is the playful one loves to play and run and bounce. Unfortunately, he has a mass on his gum and lip which I think is hindering is eating to a slight degree he managed to wolf down a healthy amount of food tonight. He is so skinny it could bring you to tears to see such a happy loving fun little bugger like him and see him so .. So.. Oh its awful. But it doesn't stop him from being the love bug that he is. Missy, she is a little butterball, which I believe has some to do with Max being so skinny too. She attempted 3 times to assist him with his dinner but by the third time of saying no that's Max's she stuck with her own dinner. She is also quite the princess. She just gives you this slurp on the face and looks at you like she just did you the biggest favor in the world. She is so exhausted and boy for a princess she can really snore. She is out like a light on one foot Max is laying on the other squeaking away at the toy I gave him. He came with a stuffed animal but hasn't  even looked at it since he got a hold of this toy. Going to be a long squeaky, snoring night by the looks of it.  The baths which are badly needed are going to wait till tomorrow they have had a long day already. But Missy has sores and she has her suave on and they both got a good brushing so they are good for tonight.   They will be seeing the vet soon.  Watch for more updates.

Max is a fawn neutered male and Missy is a brindle spayed female.  They have been together since they were pups so we would really like to place them together as they are very bonded to each other.  They are both housebroken and although they are both crate trained they can be left home alone with free roam without getting into mischief.  Max is very active and plays like a puppy, Missy is the more laid back of the two.  They are both very friendly and sweet.

Watch for updates once we get them into foster care.
