Nala - Female Boxer
Requirements for this dog:

Good with other dogs

For More information on this dog please read bio below.

Although you may not be able to adopt this pair, you can help us care for them while in foster care! Even a donation of $5 will help us with vet care, food, etc.

10/21 Nala is doing excellent...she loves to play with her toys or just play in general.  She is generally very calm but lets you know when she needs something.  She is a pleasure to have around.

9/3 Nala is doing very well after her surgery.  Her staples came out this past Saturday.  She has livened up quite a bit.  She would like to run
and play, but we have to keep her quiet for a few more weeks.  She is an excellent dog, very easy going.  She talks to you when she wants/needs something...to play, or go out, or if I don't get her dinner ready fast enough and she's hungry.  She starts with a little growl noise and if I ignore it long enough she barks at me and smacks my arm with her paw. It's pretty cute.  We took her to a cook-out on the 24th and everyone loved her, she was very well behaved.  She has free roam of the house during the work day and there is never a problem.  She knows the difference between her toys and Toni's toys, so I don't even have to keep them separate from her.  I know she is supposed to be good with
cats, but she goes nuts every time she sees one outside so I would err on the side of caution with that.  She walks excellent on her leash and
knows her basic commands; sit, down, stay and come.  She likes to "burry" her treats.  If you give her a treat, she will carry it all over
looking for a place to hide it.  They usually end up in the my daughter's closet.  I keep waiting for her to eat them.  Although, with
a toddler running around she gets plenty of snacks when no one is looking.  Her favorite spot is under the highchair at meal time.

8/25 Nala is recuperating at her foster home after her surgery.  Her treatment to date has cost Boxer Buddies approximately $1500, we desperately need donations towards this cost.

8/12 After a visit to our vet we have confirmed that BOTH of Nala's anterior cruciate ligaments (ACL) are in bad shape.  One leg is chronic and surgery probably won't help.  The other is bad, and they are recommending surgery for that leg.  This surgery is going to be VERY expensive and any donations towards her surgery will be greatly appreciated to help Nala be more mobile and more comfortable.

8/8 Nala has arrived at her foster home and is doing great. Her hind legs are in pretty rough shape, but she is a pleasure to have around.  She is excellent with our toddler and just an all around good girl...stay tuned

Nala is a very sweet friendly girl.   Good with other dogs and kids.  She is currently in a local shelter where she is in danger of being euthanized soon if we don't take her.   She is very sweet and likes everyone and even knows some basic commands.  Good with other dogs.

She appears to have an issue with one of her rear legs, and the fact that she is a little overweight may not be helping this either.  We will know more once we get her out of the shelter and have our vet examine her.

If you are interested in fostering (or even adopting) Nala so we can get her out of the shelter please let us know ASAP.
