2/7 Saber is such an energetic and loving boy, not to mention totally adorable. He loves attention from people he knows and other dogs. He is totally housebroken and is really getting used to his crate. His favorite game is "tag". All you have to do is say "You're it" and he starts running in circles and trying to get away from you. :) It is fun, if you like a nice one sided game of tag. Since Saber is only 1, his forever home will need to be ready to work with him daily on his manners and also be ready to make sure he gets LOTS of exercise! He needs frequent reminders to "use his manners" but, he is a quick study and he is very eager to please. Saber will do anything for a treat-which makes training easy. The one thing that Saber's forever home will need to work hard on and be patient with is his fear of "new people". He does not get aggressive at all, but you can tell right away that he is afraid. Are you the right home for Saber?

1/31 Saber has been in our home for 1 week today. He is doing great. We all thought Saber was a "rough" name so we have been calling in Papi-when you meet him, you will see it fits. :) He is a wonderful boy who is in real need of socialization with people. He has some fear of strangers and it takes some time for him to warm up. He does great with our dogs, and our cat. He is a bit rough for small children and he is very clumsy, so a home with older children would be best. He has great leash manners and he loves to go for long walks. He does not like being alone without his dog friends so a home with another dog is a must. He likes to learn, and we have been working with him on some basic commands. His forever home will need to keep working on this. He is also being crate trained. His forever home will need to have a lot of patience with him while getting to know him-but it will be worth it, he is a great dog. Watch for more updates as we get to know him!

Saber is a gorgeous 1 year old white male boxer that was an owner surrender to a local shelter. Saber was very nervous at the shelter but is now very happy to be in a foster home. He is getting along great with the other dogs in his foster home.
