Sampson

6 Year Old Male Boxer, Deaf, Good with Other Dogs, Kids & Cats, Housebroken, Crate Trained

Although you may not be able to adopt this dog, you can help us care for her while she is in foster care! Even a donation of $5 will help us with vet care, food, etc.

8/15 - Sampson continues to do well.  He is great with the crate and has done MUCH better on the leash.  He loves to go for long walks.  Absolutely no food aggression with his meals.  He loves men!!!!! and thinks that he is a 79 lb lap dog ( actually he is!!!!)  I will take some pictures this weekend and send along!!!!! He is great with kids and does not really counter surf (WOW).  He has finished all his antibiotics and the cough is totally gone! This one is a keeper!!!!!!!!!!!

7/27 - Sampson went to the vet today.  He is in good health.  No heart worm, no Lyme disease.  He is now up to date on his shots.  She drained the lump and stated that it is benign and that we should keep an eye on it and use cool compresses for a few days.  The cut on his foot is an abscess that is infected and he will be taking antibiotics for it.  The weird skin irritations on his legs and belly is probably contact allergies and calluses.  His ears were quite disgusting, she cleaned them out but there was no sign of any infection.  He weighs 68.5 lbs.  No issues with his stools.  He continues to do well with the other dogs and there is NO Food aggression.  Ginger has gone over to him quite a bit while he has food without any issue.  He shares his treats very well.  So far no issues!!!!!!!  he is a great dog who loves his crate and long walks.

7/23 - Sampson arrived at his foster home this weekend and is doing very well.  Introductions to the resident boxers went very well.  He is very sweet and knows some basic commands in sign.  He pulls a lot of the leash so we will be working on this, he does not seem to be used to leashed walks too much.  He rides well in the car and settles down quickly.  Sampson will be seeing our vet this week for a complete check up. Watch for more updates as he settles in at his foster home.

Sampson is a total doll!  Very easy-going tolerant dog.  He is super affectionate and loves everyone.  Sampson is deaf but it doesn’t bother him one bit.  Because he is deaf we will be looking for a home with a securely fenced in yard and possibly another dog to be his ears, although he currently lives as an only dog and does just fine.

He is crate trained and housebroken.

Watch for updates once Sampson goes to a foster home and we get to know him some more.
